Collecting Overseas Records on Korea

Objective
  • Collecting overseas records on Korea to procure primary research materials for studies on modern and contemporary history of Korea and to support for Korean Studies research.
Main Activities
  • Collect and organize records on Korea held by the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)
    • Collect records on Korea held by NARA by digitizing them
    • Classify collected records and build catalogs, databases
  • Provide services for users
    • Provide users with a guideline on how to use records and reference services
    • Introduce new arrivals and provide annotated work on the NLK's website and blog
    • Share information and cooperate with relevant institutions in Korea
