Notice on the Collection and Use of Personal Information

2026 Overseas Korean Studies Librarian Workshop


The National Library of Korea collects and uses personal information for the administration and operation of the 2026 Overseas Korean Studies Librarian Workshop as follows.

1. Purpose of Collection and Use

The personal information collected will be used for the following purposes:

  • Selection and verification of workshop participants
  • Communication with participants and provision of workshop-related information
  • Emergency contact in the event of unforeseen circumstances
  • Participant management, workshop administration, and post-event evaluation
  • Support for international collaboration activities among Korean Studies librarians and related programs

2. Personal Information Collected

The following personal information may be collected and used:

  • Name
  • Gender
  • Year of Birth
  • Nationality
  • E-mail Address
  • Phone Number
  • Emergency Contact Number

3. Retention and Use Period

The collected personal information will be retained and used only for the purposes stated above.

  • For selected participants: Personal information will be securely retained for up to three (3) years following the conclusion of the workshop and will then be destroyed without undue delay, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • For non-selected applicants: Personal information will be securely destroyed without undue delay after the completion of the selection process.


4. Right to Refuse Consent

You have the right to refuse consent to the collection and use of your personal information.

However, the information requested is the minimum necessary for participant selection, participant management, and workshop administration. Therefore, refusal to provide consent may result in limitations on application processing, participant selection, or participation in the workshop.
