Notice of Collection and Use of Personal Information

2026 Cultural Partnership Initiative Workshop for Overseas Librarians

The National Library of Korea collects and uses personal information as follows for the administration and operation of the 2026 Cultural Partnership Initiative (CPI) Workshop for Overseas Librarians.

1. Items of Personal Information Collected

The following personal information may be collected and used:

• General Personal Information: Name, Nationality, Date of Birth, Gender, Address, Phone Number, E-mail, Emergency Contact.

• Unique Identifying Information: Passport Information

• Sensitive Information: Criminal Record

2. Purpose of Collection and Use

The personal information collected will be used for the following purposes:

Evaluation and selection of workshop participants, program operation and management, visa application support, and post-program management.

3. Retention and Use Period

The collected personal information will be retained and used only for the purposes stated above.

• For selected participants: Personal information will be securely retained for up to three (3) years following the conclusion of the workshop and will then be destroyed without undue delay, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable laws and regulations.

• For non-selected applicants: Personal information will be securely destroyed without undue delay after the completion of the selection process.

4. Right to Refuse Consent

You have the right to refuse consent to the collection and use of your personal information as stated above. However, as the requested information is strictly necessary for the operation of the program, refusal to consent may result in restrictions on your application and participation in the workshop.
