The Michuhol Library of Incheon Metropolitan City(Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok) announced the selection of three books for the '2025 Michuhol Book' program: A Shapeless Life by Kim Min-chul in the adults' category, I Will Live My Own Way by Lee Won-ji in the young adults' category, and Grandma's Summer Vacation by Annyeongdal(Hello, moon) in the children's category.

'Michuhol Book' is a city-wide reading campaign in Incheon that began in 2015 and is now in its 11th year. Each year, local librarians set a theme and select books accordingly. The program includes a book declaration ceremony, book concerts, reading discussions, and other related events, contributing to the promotion of reading among citizens.

This year's theme, 'Wandering Humans - Travel', reflects the high interest of citizens in travel. After book recommendations from various institutions and review by the Michuhol Book Selection Committee, a public vote was held, with a total of 7,474 participants selecting the three final books.

The adult category book, A Shapeless Life by Kim Min-chul, recounts his two months in Paris after quitting a job he had for 20 years. It explores reflections on countless 'shapeless lives' encountered in Paris and his journey to find answers about a new phase of life.

The young adults' category book, I Will Live My Own Way by Lee Won-ji, is a heartfelt travelogue written by a travel YouTuber, capturing the struggles and concerns of youth in their 20s and 30s.

The children's book, Grandma's Summer Vacation by Annyeongdal, is both written and illustrated by the author. It showcases the author's unique quirky and calm imagination, vividly portraying the joys of vacation and travel in a picture book.

Following the book selection, Michuhol Library plans to hold the '2025 Michuhol Book Declaration Ceremony & Book Concert' in February and will run various programs such as reading discussions and field trips throughout the year. All citizens of Incheon are welcome to participate in the Michuhol Book program. For more details, visit the Michuhol Library website.
