The Northeast Asian History Foundation opens applications for the Dokdo Awards
Anyone contributing to promoting Dokdo is eligible

The Northeast Asian History Foundation (President Lee Young-ho) has begun accepting applications for candidates for the 2022 Dokdo Awards. Since 2009, the foundation has been recognizing individuals and organizations who have made major contributions to research and promotion activities related to Dokdo.

A total of 35 individuals and organizations, including researchers who published books and papers on Dokdo and organizations working to raise awareness of Dokdo issues, have received a Dokdo Award to date. The Dokdo Awards are celebrating their 13th anniversary this year.

This year, the foundation is accepting applications for the Dokdo Academic Award (one awardee) and the Dokdo Love Award (one awardee). The Dokdo Academic Award is given to researchers and scholars who have made exceptional achievements connected to Dokdo, such as writing or translating books or publishing papers related to the island in prominent domestic or overseas journals. The Dokdo Love Award is given to individuals or organizations who have contributed to promoting Dokdo in non-research areas such as education, culture, promotion, and NGO activities.
